Please keep your kids off frozen ponds!! Important!!

The news just had a story about 3 9 year olds playing on a frozen pond. One of the boys fell through the ice. The second young boy went in after him. The second boy tried to get the first boy to safety. While trying to save the first boy, the second boy became unconcious. Luckily the third child called 911. I understand that the boys wanted to play in the snow, but why was there no adult supervision? The boys were playing with a raft and rope. A sign was posted saying no swimming, no boating, and no skating. I hope the little boy is okay.
