It's election time once again here in the Philippines. The campaign period already started. I just noticed, the strategy that the opposition candidates are using is to repeat the same issues and scams over & over again against the administation candidates. I just feel sick of all this issues being used by the opposition candidates. Don't they think that the people already heard enough of all this. I'm not really pro administration. I really haven't made up my mind yet on who to vote. But what I want to say is, I think it's more important for the opposition candidates to lay out their platforsm to the people instead of this continous bickering & ranting. I think this is more useful for the voters to help them decide who to vote. What do you think guys? Or do the opposition candidates really have to reitirate the same issues because they think the Filipino voters never really learned their lessons and can just easily forget the past issues & scams against the admin candidates.

i never had too much opinion on politics. sometimes i feel like my vote doesn't even matter knowing that fact that results can be altered anyway. going back to your topic, i think both sides should present their platform and then start exposing each other's issues and scams :) sometimes i find it entertaining but then at the end of the day everone is corrupt because the whole system is corrupt. even the good guys have to give in to unconventional ways just to get their job done.

I think you're correct, our whole government system is corrupt. I don't know if we can ever get out of this mud and be one of asia's tigers again.

I've long since given up on our government. All they say are either lies or bunch of crap. Trying to be safe so that they don't get kicked in the butt for not being able to keep their promises. What we need is a total change!

I agree with you 100%. I know it is not good to feel this way, but I honestly think no matter who wins the election, it will always be the same - we will always have corrupt traditional politicians.

As early as the campaigning period, these TRAPO (traditional politicians) were already cheating and violating rules. How can we vote for these kinds of politicians, actually almost all politicians in our countryt are like these, so who do we vote now.Honestly, I really don't think I'm going to vote this election. But then again, I still hope that our country is not yet hopeless.

The scams, etc. show dishonesty and therefore people should not vote for dishonest people who will just take advantage of their positions and continue graft and corruption in the government.

Yeah this kind of things do happen every election. I guess this is how things run here in the philippines. Those in power tries to stay in power and thos ein the opposition tries to discredit everything they do to grab power. I just wish that there would really come out like a geniune third force that would attempt to stop this two opposing forces from grabbing power. But from my experience such third force has really not enough money to do it and change would really come from either of this two sides.

Personally, I am not a big fan of the elections. The elections, specifically the 2004 elections, had the most significant impact on my personal life, but what the heck, its in the past, so i've decided to leave it there. Anyway, To go back to your question, of course its ideal for the opposition to stick to their platform and quit making the campaign a big road show of gossiping and black smearing each other. And let me tell you, I am sure as hell, that such activities is not limited to the opposition alone, the administration will have their own sweet way of doing the same things. And that is what is sad to what have become with the Philippine politics. Everyone, seem to have focused on their own selfish intents and totally forgot the running for office is for public service and contributing to make life better for the masses. I just hope that all is not lost and there are still individuals who will genuinely love the country and serve her well. My two cents...

I know it's sad to hear this, but I already loose hope on our government. No matter who wins this election, it will all be thsame, nothing will ever change. But still like you, I still hope that someday we'll find a leader who will genuinely serve our country.
