How many hours does ur hamster sleep in a day?

Mine sleeps most of the day. It's just at night when he's active. Usually starts about 10pm at night and goes till about 5 in the morning. During the day we never hear him but at night oh boy is he running around in that wheel of his. Hamsters are by nature nocturnal so it's not surprising they sleep most of the day time away.

I don't count, but hamsters are nocturnal, so I don't wanna disturb them in the day. If they're irritated it may retaliate by biting. My hamster sleeps throughout the day, but around 8 pm I see it chewing its food and drinking water. Then 1 hour later you'll notice it running around the cage and running like crazy on the wheel. Anyway, if the noise of the hamster wheel disturb you, you might wanna consider getting a Silent Wheel from your nearby petstore. It doesn't squeak at all!
