It has been 16 years since I graduated highschool and some of my former classmates are organizing our class reunion..
I actually have mixed emotions on going..
I was very shy and with a low self esteem during highschool, not exactly popular.. Sometimes highschool reminds me of some old hurts from classmates, even teachers who let you down..
I know some of my former classmates are really doing well in their chosen careers, even excelling in their field.. I am doing okay.. so and so.. I just don't want to feel that lowly again..
On the other hand, I do have some good memories.. and I do want to know how the others are doing and what they looked like now after all these years..
What do you think?

I graduated from high school 20 years ago (oops, showing my age here :) ) and I've been to several high school reunions already. It's really not that bad. Like you, I'm what they would call a wallflower during high school. But in the years that you have been apart, a lot of things change. Maybe you think that you didn't do as well as others did. But hey, that wouldn't make you worse than they are. You made different choices in your lives after graduation. Wouldn't it be nice to see how those choices turned out? It's interesting to see what happened to your class valedictorian, to the jock, to the muse, to the clown....well, I guess you get my drift. Others would also be curious about what happened to you. This isn't about competing with your former classmates. This is about reconnecting with people who've played some part in your younger days. I say, go and have fun!

it would be nice to reconnect with some old highschool friends. if you're not that keen on going (yet), why not try to meet up with some highschool friends prior to the day of the reunion? that way, you can catch up with each other's lives and go the the reunion as a group. you might even enjoy it :)

wow!. that has been a really long time!. 16 years!. im sure there are so many things that have changed and it was a good idead for some of your former classmates to organize a reunion!. i can very well agree that this reunion will incite mixed feelings. ]
first it will make you shy because you wont know if some of your former classmates will recognize or even remember you and you are excited because you are gona meet the people who made your life fun when you were in highschool!.
i think that it is natural for you to feel that way because thats how it is.. people are having reunions to rekindle old friendship and to check up on the status of the people you once were close with.. im sure a lot have really changed!. 16 years!. its pretty exciting to see the former classmates grow into mature business minded persons and to be able to see their family and their sons or daughters.. i like it!.
thanks for sharing this with us.. makes me remeber my higschool days!. i miss my former classmates and the way we had fun. i wish we would have a reunion too.. soon enough i hope!.
