Do you enjoy your job?

Do you feel valued and respected at work? Do you think you are paid a fair rate? Are your benefits comparable to other companies in your industry? Do you get along with your co-workers? Does your management lead with integrity and competence? If some of these things don't sit well with you, what reasons do you stay other than a paycheck?

I haven't worked in 2 years for a paycheck that is. I am a stay at home Mom. I make a few dollars online. I'm in no hurry to return to the work force. My opinions of being an employee of any company I worked for are not good. I was appreciated and complimented numerous times for my job performance. Does it mean I was respected. In my opinion. NO! A pay raise or a promotion would have shown some respect on their part. I will give Walmart a little credit though because they did offer me a promotion which I refused because I had no intentions of returning after I had my daughter. As far as management, I have seen my fair share of good and bad. I think most managers get a bad rap either way. Some are tired of fighting the system. The system is "Employee rights" . I am all for employee rights but I can't help to be disgusted by the way so many people abuse the system. Why can't people accept they were fired due to poor work performance? It's always about color, race, gender, religion, handicaps, you name, they will use it. So, even though, I am not working, i am not eager to return to the workforce and fight for a paycheck!

Neat little Evil walmart pic - Neat little evil Walmart pic someone sent me made from a still shot from The Lord of the Rings.
I hate my job, the company I work for, most of the people I work with, and most of the managers. I think we have some competent and appericative managers but most only care about themselves and the company. Not the store so much as the company. If you haven't guessed - I work at Wal-mart. Our benefits suck bad. Most of the people who work their have different government assistance. Most of the people I work with are complete morons (in the true sense of the word) who could only get that job (no offense). I'm paid pretty decently because I've been there for 7 years. Although it seems like it's not enough to put up with everything that I have to put up with. I only stay there because right now I have to work third shift because my husband does. As far as respect - none from the customers. Some from the employees and mangers depending on who it is. Valued - again it depends on which manager - even though I really am one of their best overnight stockers. So all in all - it sucks. I wish I could give my two weeks in everyday I go in there. I am trying currently looking for another job though. They're just hard to come by in this area for third shift.

Oh no. Not Wal-Mart. I like most of the people that I've ever seen working at one, but I just cannot stand the company's policies. My ex-husband worked at one for awhile years ago. They weren't quite as bad then, but they still didn't pay much. I wish you luck finding something you will enjoy more and will still fit your schedule.

well as far as my fri and sat route goes i think im a bit underpaid, considering i have to use my own car and pay for my own gas, and it puts alot of mileage on it ect ect.. there are no benefits, dont really have to deal with co workers, and for the most part my boss is good. im only doing it for the paycheck though.

I love my job. I work overnights in a group home for troubled boys. As the only overnight staff that has been on staff for 6 years I am very valued and asked questions by all the other overnight staff who are new. My boss also calls on me when he needs extra help so that he knows things will get done and done right. Here at Epworth we get paid more than any other agency like ours in the area and we have the full support of our management staff. All of the staff in my cottage are great and we have great working relationships. I stay here because I love the people I work with and the boys I help on a daily basis. This is like a second family to me.
