i start with selecting tactic. normally, i just use the default tactic.
to select player, i just let assistant manager to select.
how do you manage?

firts i make my own line-up and then i ask my assistant manager

Well i also select the tactics and i try to get a good assistant manager which plays the games. At time i also take control of the matches once the players' morale starts getting low or when they feel i am not giving them enough credit.
