no you are no selfish at all ... if you'd say i wont help anyone no matter what or will not give blood to anyone .... well i would have considered you as selfish ... but under the circumstances given ,,, i dont think you are selfish at all
besides i am sure if you urgently need to donate blood for one of you own family members you would definately move ahead first
thanks

No, you are not selfish, it's totally your prerogative if you don't want to give blood, and I don't see why you have to give a reason. I don't give blood either, because I have a condition that I am not able to, but even so I hated it when I was work and most gave blood when the donor bank came round and people asked me why I didn't give blood and frowned on me for not doing so, it was none of their business. We all have our own reasons and our own principles standing up for them and not letting others change us is of prior importance.

i thought about this a lot recently. My wife is a donor, because they come to her work to collect it.
I would have to find and travel to a place they were having a public collection, and I normally have 'something better to do' on weekends.
I will look into this and donate soon though, because I would hate for me or my family to need a transfusion and not get it.

I think they're short of blood at the moment. I would definatly do it if I wasnt so scared.

I don't give blood. So don't feel bad if you don't. We're not obligated to. It's quite a lot to ask for I know.

I don't give blood either - although I should. I guess I am a bit nervous about doctors and needles and such as well.

I did once and my body reacted so terribly from it that I've never done it again. I was dizzy and weak for days afterwards.
I feel bad that I don't because my blood type is the most common one used (O-), but I can't afford to be out of commission like that again. However, if it was needed for a friend or family member, I would do it.

You just felt dizzy because your blood sugar or something fell low. Just gorge yourself on cake afterwards and you'll be fine. Just think, the weaker you feel, the more you've helped!!!
