zero is a number actually. numbers have different classes. they are rules of maths. there are natural numbers and 0 is not included in it maybe thats why ur teacher said 0 is not a number. if u take the class rational numbers, 0 will be included and irrational numbers are all those fractions and decimals u get that dont exist in the natural way of life. u never ger 3.33 oranges do u?so therefore they are irrational and not natural. u never also get 0 oranges. we say there are no oranges. u cant say 0 oranges cos its not a natural number.

Even i think the same that zero is not a number, its the absence of any number i believe... However, i might be wrong since i am not a mathematician
