Why was sehwag included in the worl cup squad??

I dont see any reason why Virender Sehwag should be included in the world cup squad.He was given so many chances in the past 6 months and he did not perform well in any match.He batted about 50 one days without scoring a half century.I think even if a tailender was sent in the top of the order (as sehwag was) he would have scored atleast one half century.If anybody has any reasons why you think sehwag was selected write here...I wont accept if you say he is an aggressive batsman and can give a good start to the team.He has shown what kind of a start he can give to the team(in the past 6 months)-a flop start.

what you dont see ant reason for sehwag to be back in the team.Even i dont think that he should be in the team.But..........its not up to you and me its up to the selectors in the indian team.the selectors must have not done any kind of partiallality.he must have proven himself to get in the team. He must have practised for hours.I agree with you that he has given been giving very bad performence to the indian cricket team and india must have been loosing confidence for the flop start. May be he will prove himself in front of the indian cricket team or MAy be Not.persentage for proving himself is 22% and for not proving is 78%.So i agree with you he is was a flop player,he is a flop player,he will remain a flop player.Atleast thats what i think. He should be chucked out of the INdian cricket team if he doesnt play well.When he was not playing india played extreamly well.

this s the last chance given to sehwag....this will decide the future of sehwag...though he didn't play well in many matches,we should consider the matches he had done well....so only he was taken again in the team..

The world cup is not about what you have done in the past it is about what you do in that month and seeing sehwags batting for the past year I dont think he will do very well in that month.Because a player who has not been able to regain his form in the past 1 year cant regain it in a span of 3-4 weeks.So why select him??

i know a reason that rahul dravid thinks that this guy can some how can win us matches single handedly which he never did from 2004
i think if he fails in the world cup then he would be kicked out of indian team like wat was done to sourav ganguly

Yes I think this guy should be kicked before we lose another world cup,last it was because of a useless Dinesh Mongia who,even though he weas not performing,was always in the main squad and that cost us bigtime in the finals against australia where we desperately neede an extra bowler whose place was taken by Mongia.I hope it does not happen because of Sehwag this time.Thank you for your response.

i asked rahul dravid to give me one reason y sehwag was selected for the worldCup team and this wat dravid told me:
To make MUNAF PATELs batting look good in comparison to his.

Even if Munaf patel was given so many Chances he would have scored atleast one century if not a half century but this guy didnt even score a half century for a long long time.In fact he hasnt won us a single match for thee last two years.Thank you for your response.

After seeing his past few performances in the matches it is thoughtfull he should not be included in the world cup but he has been included in the 15 player team of world cup by the selectors due to the reason that he is an experienced player and every team requires some experienced players and also his performance in the last world cup was pretty good so was supposed to be included in the world cup team.

Welcome to mylot!Thank you for your response.But I dont think he is batting like an experienced player should be batting.He should stay longer in the crease and should not play shots which get him out but I dont think he will ever learn that so it is better he is not picked in the squad but when will the selectors learn?
