what is black coral worth?

I have a large peice of uncrafter blach coral approx 10cm in length and approx 5cm in diameter. It is a family heirloom. My mother found it washed up on an australian beach years ago and now I want to sell it; what is a good price for it and where would I sell it?

I also have a sick of this uncrafted black coal, is it easy to sell these "Beach specemins"? for instance, can a jeweler buy a small amount, say 30cm legally? even though this is exempt and not normaly found on a beach. Do i need aproval to sell 30 cms
