I loved being called a dumb blonde because most people believe the stereotype that labels us. They are so wrong we are not any dumber than brunettes or redheads. I used it to the full advantage I was actually very shrewd and clever, especially in my career, then of course if I did make a mistake I could always fall back into the dumb blonde category. It is amazing how you can underestimate a person by believing stereotypes which can be a big mistake.
Question do you accept stereotypes or form your own opinion?

I accept stereotypes... but I make my own stereotypes. I have never found blondes to be any less smart than any other woman so I don't accept that one. There are other things that I stereotype on... a LOT of things lol.

I consider stereotypes, but usually have an open mind. This is so funny. One of the smartest people I knew was my little sister. Born blonde. Bottle blonde when she outgrew her blonde little girl locks. She played it to the hilt. I only regret that as her illness took her, we did not keep her blonde. She would have gotten a kick out of that.

That is very shrewd of you girl. I don't stereotype anyone. I form my own opinion. I can usually size up someone as soon as I meet them, and am always right in my thoughts. It's uncanny, but it is true. It amazes my husband the things that I pick up from body language and the tone and expressions on people's faces. So, I go with my own thoughts and opoinions always. I never judge a book by it's cover.

I'm sorry, but you are not living up to your reputation here on MyLot, I don't see any evidence at all of you being dumb, I can't comment on the blonde bit, as I'm colourblind, and from your photograph can't tell if you're blonde or not. It is, of course, your perogative to use your blondeness to your best advantage.
I try to avoid stereotypes as that can be totally misleading, and try to form my own opinion about everybody and everything, I don't believe what I'm told, just because someone in authority tells me something. I prefer things to be proved beyond the shadow of doubt, before I accept anything - I've been caught out several time in the past when I was younger (and less wiser than I am know).

I always form my opinion and i nver believe in stereotypes... specially like blonds or sardars or anythin like that... but ya i do use stereotyps and other such things to make some friendly jokes and like that but i seriously don't believe in stereotypes cause nobody is any diferent from the other, by birth every body was made same. Its just the surroundings and type of bringingup that decide whether a person is dumb, cunning, clever, or wise or whatever.

I am a firm believer in the saying "dont judge a book by its cover" i think that applys to books as well as people! just accepting stereotypes blindly relying upon word of mouth in todays dog eat dog world is abosolute stupidity!
you must form your own opinion about everything! thats what life is all about! finding out for yourself! wheres the thrill in believing something just passed on by others! the fun is exploring it for yourself!

Wow I never knew being a blond will be so much fun. I think one day, I'll dye my hair to blond and watch what will ever happen to me. Until now, I am not someone who accept stereotype. I form my own opinion from my own experience. It's gonna be lovely to see your blond hair, whiteheather39.

That is good if you can take the positive from what peoples are saying at you. Yes, that is true if sometimes many peoples just judge others by him / her self. Personally, I can't accept if other peoples called me something that I don't like. You must be good in your own life my friend, I trust you, keep going with your career =)

Everyone has his(her) own way to solve problems.I think condidence is the first important when people do everything.
The author is right in being confident of thinking that blondes are not any dumber than brunettes or redheads.Don't be care of how others think, only do what you are sure!!!

I like to think that I don't accept stereotypes and I like to think that I am intelligent enough to form my own opinion and most of the time I am. However, sometimes some people seem to fit a stereotype. I think its great that you don't mind the stigma placed on blondes. I have a good friend who is blonde who works as an accountant. I would not put her in the category of dumb blonde at all. Although she would probably just laugh about because like you, she has a great sense of humor. In fact, she is the one who told me the first blonde joke I ever heard!

Yep I forgot the Map and guess who got lost and had to phone her Man, yes me. As you can imagine he dispaired with me lol and then laughed at me.

I form my own opinions. I also know lots of brunettes that really fit the description of dumb blond. I had a wonderful sister who played her blondness for all it was worth.

I form my own opinions. I wish I could be a dumb blonde I would probably advance in the world faster. Having brains isn't necessarily an advantage in the corporate world.!
I heard a guy say the a couple of years ago. "Some women are born blonde, some realize it later" NICE huh? the jerk!
I hate the stereotypeing that people do.

No I don't stereotype. I always form my own opinion. I can't stand it when people really believe in sterotypes. It makes me think they have some sort of bizzare brain issue that keeps them from being reasonable. It's very strange to me. I seriously know a girl..and she is blonde by the way. That firmly believes blonde woman are not as smart as others. She will also tell you all gay people look alike and act alike. There is no convincing her otherwise. Many have tried for years. She's not predjudice that's not it. She just believes these things...lol

i used to frost my hair so people thought i was a blonde. I especially enjoyed messing with the guys i met at the bar- I would pretend to not know how to play pool and say things like "I'm gonna hit that pretty purple one over there" and of course I would make the shot and kick their butts
