Is there life on other planets!

Sometimes I am really torn. I took a planetary geology class in college that really made it seem like it was possible for there to be other planets and star systems like ours out there, but there wouldn't be many of them. Then again, there could be many of them but compared to the infinite size of the universe, how many would a lot have to be? I wonder if the life on other planets is different than ours, but I do believe there's some life out there somewhere. I hope we get to see it in my lifetime.
