What has locked you into making the same mistakes in relationship again & again?

It is very rare for people to make real changes in their behavior based on previous mistakes. Often people make the same mistakes again and again. It is helpful to look at the reasons why people seem to get stuck in a cycle of repetition complusion. So, what lock you in and prevents you from learning from your own mistakes?

it's the fact that the relationships I get into aren't good for me... But i like that. I find it arousing when things won't go my way all of the time. Now the negative side is that you always get disappointed, with a girlfriend that flakes out, one that isn't ready for a long term commitment, and a hoist of other things that ends up with a lot of fights in the relationship.
But why do I keep doing it? I'm attracted to it. The girls that are bad to be with, are the ones that attract me because they are full of surprise, mystery, and energy, just like me.
Which works both ways good and bad.
