how long shold kids be a loud to play games

I would say about 2 hours a day, whether he wants to stretch them out or play it all at once. Video games arent necessariy bad for chldren, but when they get so wrapped up in them, they do not want to react or socialize with anyone else. Video games are meant to consume children so the company will make more sales. I would definately do around 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day.

I only let my 8yr. daughter play on the computer for an hr. a day allowing her to 'rack up' hr. by not playing for a couple days and taking those hours and using them like maybe on a Friday night or during the weekend. She now has a game boy advance and is only allowed to play with it in the car when we go somewhere. Keeps her occupied while I'm concentrating on the road. She can be a reg. 50 million question kid otherwise. lol

Yes limiting time to video games is a good idea especialy at the young age of six, minds are influenced more by these games, I know this from personal experience as my head is slightly warped by these games, after I played them continously for hours on end.

I think you must give a limit of time to him and tell that you must play in that time only otherwise if he got sucked into games it is very difficult to come out of it.If you take me as example if I start playing games I was so sucked like that I cant eat food also .. So it is better to limit time

I guess you have to ask yourself how long you yourself spend online. At 6, he's following other people's behavior and might be a little confused at why he cant and others can kinda thing. Buy a timer, set it next to him and make sure he understands that when it goes off, he's all done. He's only 6. Take the reigns.
