dealing with a lack of prosecution

I charged my ex with assault for a second time-first one got dropped-last september. Waited for the D.A. to throw the book at him. Find out today, they slap his wrist and say he has no contact except in public places-which includes where we both play darts-and drop the assault charge. How do I deal with this blatant disregard for what he did? I am furious, at him and the D.A.
