has anyone ever used the C4 4+3 transmission?

I had a 84 Corvette with the 'standard transmission. It was called the 'Doug Nash" transmission, as it had the usual 4 speeds, but 3 of them could go into 'overdrive'. This darn thing was nothing but a pain. It would move back and forth from the overdrive to the standard ratio without warning. I finally sold it for a fraction of the value. Has anyone else ever had one of these and liked it?
