I have a dog cat. He waits at the door for me to come home. He is social and interacts with everybody, including strangers. He's afraid of thunderstorms. He begs for food. He's always on someone's lap. I talked to my vet about it and she said that there really are "dog" and "cat" personalities that different cats exhibit. So does anybody else have a dog cat? How about a funny story about them?

well I had a cat that would follow me to the bus stop every morning and be waiting for me after school mostly at the bus stop. I had a dog at the same time that tried her best to climb trees. and they would sleep in the same dog bed. it was very funny.

Well the dog and cat I had sometimes seems to have their personalities mixed up. My dog would like rubbing on our legs like a cat does and our cat, well she landed on her feet like a dog for one, once she jumped from my hands to the floor and made a splat sound as she hit her stomach and chest, she literally looked like one of those skin rugs with the feet out, she got a bit better at it as she aged but was never really any good at landing, my dog and cat were in love with each other, my dog tried to mate with her a few times but he was to tall to actually reach her to my luck. They did a lot of strange things, sometimes though I thought they both had monkey DNA lol

I used to have a cat that people that hated cats & loved dogs liked her. But what I'm really responding about is a cat I saw in line for the vet on an adoption day. This cat was standing in line, on a leash like a dog, surrounded by dogs & was perfectly happy! He was a handsome ginger fellow & the people said he loved dogs. Fact is that he tried to love on the dogs around him & they were weirded out by him!

My Simba is a dog cat. I love seeing him at the front door at the end of a long work day. He begs for food and drinks fro mthe toilet when he can. It's kind of a comfort because i had lost my beloved dog of 17 years exactly a year before i got the Simba and his sister Luna B.

All 4 of my cats run to greet my husband when he gets home from work. And when he is late getting home, Duncan cries at the window. None of my cats are really lap cats. And they don't like to be picked up. One of my cats, Duncan, likes to play fetch with a plastic ring. He brings the ring to me or my husband and waits for us to throw it. Then he runs and brings it back to be thrown again. Sometimes he even catches the ring in mid-air.

i too have a dog cat, he use to play fetch all the time, then he got sick when I took him to the vet whatever it was the vet said she had only seen it in dogs, when we go for a walk he walks with us it doesn't matter how long the walk is, he always has to be in someones lap too and recently he got sick again and when I took him to the vet they said the same thing about this problem "I have never seen a cat with this problem before" glad to know someone else has one too!

I have a dog cat!! She waits in the window for me to come home. She greets me at the door. She fetches things for me. She begs! She's definitely a little puppy dog cat. She's never been around a dog either, which is the weird thing.

Hi, that's funny! Hubby and I have 7 cats and 3 dogs. We say our 2 yr old mutt Schultz, is completly confused, because he was raised by all 9 animals, he even used the litter boxes when he was a baby. Our cats have different personalities, and so do our dogs. Our Cat-dog is named Buddy and he is the Alfa male of our pride. He will come when called and litterally "arf" when speaking. He is 18 yrs old and just hilarious. Hubby came with 6 cats, I came with 2 kids and 2 cats, lost 2 cats, and adopted another one along with 3 dogs in the last 6 yrs. Our home is a mad house, with all the animals, but they sure make us smie alot, as well as tick us off.

me too! my ten month kitten, waits at the door for me to come home from work. He'll look out the window, see me parking and getting out of my car, then run to the door to wait for me. He jumps up on me, and puts his butt near me for scratches. He always wants to be on my lap, or a guests lap, and follows me around everywhere i go. If i go to the bathroom, he's right behind me at my ankle. He begs for food, and waits by his food bowl when he's hungry, expecting to be fed. He also breaks his cat toys. Honestly, I've never seen a cat break his toys before...I live in an apartment, so there is no stairs to throw them down either. Those little balls with the bells inside, i find pieces of them everywhere.
