I planned my own wedding, it wasn't lavish and it was a small wedding so it was easy. I am a cheapskate so I couldn't justify spending money on a planner when I could do it myself! Plus, my mother and mother in law helped, they really wanted to get involved with it so I think they would have been insulted if I had a planner do it instead.

wether or not I have the money, I still prefer to plan my own wedding. I like going through the stages of picking things, making decisions...but only when it comes to parties. I love planning events. But maybe I'll consult with a wedding specialist but that's about it. I want my wedding to be as personalized as possible.

no... its good that you do it on your own. it a good time for the two of you to bond and know thelikes and dislikes for the wedding.

Think Graham and I plan to make our own wedding plans and preperations then it is something we are both working together with! Something we are working on for next year! So a bit of time to go yet

I think you can plan a wedding just as good as some wedding planner that you've hired to do it for you. In fact, I think I'd rather plan it myself so I could save myself all that extra cash.

I think it depends on whether you can afford it because a wedding planner will certainly make it less stressful for you and all you have to do is tell her (or him) what you want, and if you don't want to decide you can let the planner choose for you.
So I am not sure why you are uncertain about going with a planner. Make sure it's someone who has a good reputation or at least has been recommended by someone you know, so you will know that you can trust them to plan the wedding exactly the way you want it planned. Good luck deciding!

I just planned my own wedding. I joined a local website where I was able to talked to future brides in preparing for my wedding. I enjoy preparing for an event so my wedding preparation is not that stressful. I also confident that I would be able to accomplish everything. I am hands-on and will definitely want to know every detail of it. It is a once in a lifetime event and I want to enjoy every minute of its preparation.
