Thrift stores - love them or hate them?
I tend to lean towards loving them.
I think that it's amazing sometimes that people will turn their noses up at thrift stores, but will gladly pay 2, 3 and 4 times as much for a used item on ebay, consignment shops, or other places of that ilk.
The funny thing? I know a couple of people that haunt thrift stores, garage, tag and yard sales for items to list on ebay, and then turn around and make great profits on those items.
What do you think? Do you shop at thrift stores? Would you shop at a thrift store?

I love thrift stores also. you can buy a $200 pair of boots for $5. tell me you can't make a profit with something like that. Sometimes you can even find brand new things with tags still on them. Some people waste money and got to the mall and get a pair of jeans for $40 when they could go and get the same pair of jeans from a thrift store for $3. Check thrift stores before you buy somewhere elso. You could save a lot of money,

I love to bargain shop in general. When I was a single mom I would especially shop in the "Gently Used" consignment shops for clothing for both myself and my children..(they outgrow things so fast).
I could walk out of a consignment store with 5 pairs of Lucky
Brand and Levi Jeans, 5 tops, several outfits for my kids as well, and it would have only cost me around $60.00.
I am a true believer in "one mans junk is another mans treasure".

I like thrift stores and i have no problem shopping at them! Goodwill is one of my favs, esp for my children why pay ridiculous prices for items that you can get at the thrift store I do have stipulations like when I go to the thrift store I always try to find the name brand stuff like GAP old navy etc because walmarts stuff you can usually get at walmart if you wait long enough cheaper then you can get it at the goodwill!

I love thrift stores! I buy my husband's work pants there for $2(think mechanic). A couple of weeks ago I had to testify in court, so I bought two new dresses (on sale,of course). That's the first new clothes I've bought in about three years. Almost all my clothes are gimmies or thrift store finds. If I would have had time, I would have hit the thrift stores for my court clothes!
My kids love our local thrift store! One year, we had no money for school clothes (before we homeschooled). I hit some yard sales and a couple of thrift stores and my kids were outfitted in name brand clothes for $6.25. Not bad for two girls!!
My sister calls me from Goodwill to make sure she's buying the right sizes for my kids! She's a thrift store junkie, too!

I love to shop at thrift stores, but have few to choose from where I live. If I go to bigger areas that is always on our list of places to stop, we rarely buy clothing new anymore, as we can get clothing that looks new and sometimes is new for a couple dollars. Especially this is true with girl's dresses, I think most people buy them to wear once or twice and then grow out of them before they wear them out. Thrift storing has been a big boon to helping us with our finances and making it on a low income.
