We spent a week in Italy and rained almost every day, it was boring and miserable, we went to venice for a day and I found it smelly and where they got the idea that it is romantic I would love to know.
We found the people unfriendly but maybe that was the weather upsetting them!!!
How did you you find Italy?

Hi Layney as you say there are good and bad, it is just that at the small hotel we stayed at the people totally ignored us, they found it hard to even be civil and say Good evening when we greeted them. There were only Italians in the small bar at the hotel and we felt their hostility. If the rain had not been so bad we wouldn't have even entered in, perhaps they did not like foreigners entering their territory but in that case they should have put locals only on the door.
Maybe it was because they were older people I don't know.

When I went to Italy I was up in the mountains most of the time and it was really wonderful. I spent a day in Venice and the canals were really bad - why do they still flush their sewage into them? How romantic can it be to have a meal sat by a stinking cess pit?
