It makes no sense at all. All those old timers that got to drink when they were 18 think we should wait untl 21 because of all the stupid things they did. They survived though didn't they. I really don't know how a government can tell you what to put in your own body.

i think rather than lowering the drinking age they should raise the age to join the armed forces i agree if your concidered old enough to die then you should have all the adult perks that go with that!

It's 18 in England, shame few people wait that long really. There were boys in my year at school joined the forces at 16, this is going back to the 80's it might be older now, they could get married, have kids, smoke but not drink. Looking back now we were still kids ourselves.
At 18 people seem a bit more grown up and aware of their decisssions, the thing is there are so many things that are just as big that you can do younger, laws are strange sometimes.

Above 21 is recommendable providing the person must to fulfill the norms for self attainment in all walks of future life. We have to see the tropical condition also. Legal bindings cannot count for men or women due to their coordination with weather. The age limit criterio rises after ther person becomes mentally matured only. Hence its definitely above 21 even more. Also it may depend on the countries culture.

I think it should be 18 also. Especially since teenagers don't care about the restriction and drink anyway. The law doesn't seem to prosecute them that much either. So what is the point of the age being that high then?
