I think it is definitely not about money. There are other ways to show affection than to buy stuff. Those would be the ways that count for more! I hope your boyfriend at least did *something* to make you remember he loves you, or to celebrate your love for each other. Celebrations can be simple and still significant. And I would hope too that your boyfriend does thoughrful things on other days too, not just on V-day which is just one day!
