Automatic sense of Guilt. When the cops are behind you.......

When you're driving down the road and you see a cop behind you do you automatically feel a sense of distorted guilt and nervousness, even if you have no reason to? Have you ever been around someone who claims that "something" is missing from there house or desk or where ever, and have that misplaced sense of "They probably think I did it" even though you didn't, so you work hard to help them find it? Why do we automatically feel guilty?

I don't feel an automatic sense of guilt because usually I don't do anythign wrong but I immediately check my speed to see if I am going over the limit. I do feel a bit nervous though because I think that if they are trying to book for something to fill their quota for the day, I am feel they will find something to pick on for sure. I don't really like people who make a point of telling you something is "missing" - why would they even be telling me unless they are implying someone took it?
