Does your cat, jump in your place, when you stand up?

Our cat Rainbow is always doing it, although I can't blame her, after all you have just made it all warm and cosy, perfect to snuggle up ;o)
Her favourite warm spot is the computer chair, she will sit near you waiting for you to stand up, as soon as you move, she'll be on it! She's right there now as I type, I did perch my bottom on the edge of the chair but she has been slowly pushing her feet on the back of the chair, causing me to slide closer to the edge. I have now resigned myself to sitting on my tam-tam stool!

Ohh yes .. animals love the warm and cosy spot you just left .. it's smells nicely of you too and animals are sensitive to scents ..
Both my cats did the 'squirming in behind' trick, I'm amazed that sometimes they could still breathe they'd squished themselves in so far behind me .. my neighbours dogs do it too .. one likes to drape herself across my shoulders (yes, I could, probably should stop her!) .. so I wear her as a 'living fur stole' .. pretty weighty stole though as she is a full grown Irish terrier heheh !!
It's amazing how strong one little animal can be though isn't it .. my male cat .. a huge cat would always end up with 7/8ths of the double bed for himself and me and my female cat squashed up into one corner .. and all done while I am sound asleep I might add ! The times I have woken up perched right on the edge of the bed!

My cat doesn't take my seat, but he has to sleep on the bed at night, during the day, etc. He has a few hiding spots that he will frequent if there is too much traffic in my house. At night he will wait until I go to bed before he will go. If he feels he has waited long enough, he will begin scratching on the door frame. If I make eye contact with him at that point, he will bolt over to me and try to "corral" me to the door. He won't go to bed until everyone else is asleep, then he will go to my bed, my side, anywhere from my head (which he seems to prefer) or my feet. If he and lie down for a nap, he will attmpt to lay across the entire side of the bed (my side I will add!). He has been caught asleep on my hubby's side once and he was on his back sprawled out like a drunk. He normally just tries to take up an area of my side when its bedtime as he knows hubby will push him off the bed. I will however, make room for the cat.

I have never thought of it in that way, with the scents that we leave behind.
Is your male cat a black cat, by any chance? My neighbour has a huge cat and he is black all over, I have never seen a cat so huge. I had the pleasure of looking after them, while my neighbour was on holiday, I called him 'Big Man' simply because of his shear weight and bulk, he used to knock over the heavest of objects.
Our cat loves to spread herself out over the bed too! She has figured that i'm the best one to sleep next to, as my husband tends to flap his legs around a lot and has flipped her off the bed before now............lol
Your neighbours dogs, sound like a right pair of characters ...... lol
I can just picture you, wear your neighbours dog ...........lol

Yes, cats do that. But whenever I decide to use my computer, I remove the cat from the chair, so off she goes to the floor. There are times when it catches me by utter surprise when I take my seat on the sofa and it feels softer than usual and warmer, too. Sure enough, the cat is there. It's good cats don't just get hurt as they know how to slither away.

It is, I often wonder why they don't end out getting squashed often, they must be real sensitive, and sense someone about to park themselves on them. Our cat normally moves in the nick of time, unless she has claim a spot for the night and then she will not move for anyone or anything.

Oh no, my cat is only guilty of trying to take over the computer chair. He will balance himself on the top of the back of my chair and then bit by bit, never all at once, will begin leaning on my back to eventually "fall" behind me on the chair.
If I get up from the couch, he will take that seat only if I am moving within the room. If I am leaving the room to go into another room, he will come running across the room to get into the other room with me. He is very social.

I think its great the way a cat can balance themselves on the smallest of things sometimes, ours often sits perched on the top of the computer chair, ready and waiting to sneak in behind.
Mine doesn't follow me much out the room, she pretty much pleases herself, she can be social at times and others, well she far to content in her spot to bother following me.....lol
Your cat sounds very much like he is great company and a joy to have.............. enjoy :o)

My cat loves to steal my computer chair too and if I am not fighting her off it, then it's my kids.
Another thing my cat loves to do is if I am reading a paper or magazine and have it layed flat on the table, she will hop up and sit on whatever I am reading, then she refuses to budge. I think she is trying to tell me that I need to give her attention, not what I am reading.

I wonder what the facination is with computer chairs and cats? Your chair is it leather by any chance? Mine is, leather does get warm quite quickly, they must sense the heat coming off of it...........lol
