It seems like no one has an appreciation for the underground anymore. Like if something was recorded with a budget of under $100,000 it's not worth listening to. I myself prefer originality to the same old formula.

I think it is the usual up and down movement. When I was 15 we kicked against pr*cks like glamrockers and started out DIY punk projects. Ahh, what a time ... Pistols, Kennedies and Ramones ruled !
Nowadays my kids listen to crap like Christina, Black eyed peas and other Beyonces, and I cannot wait until some of that great underground stuff rises to the surface... I just hope they don't sell out like others did before !

I'm all about originality but I don't like most of the unsigned groups I've heard lately, especially on myspace where your friend request box gets inundated with band requests. I listed to everyone but I've never added anyone, usually because I just don't like the music but I also get turned off when people don't sing in key and this has been happening a lot lately with male lead vocals. Like anyone can grab a mic and start up a band now. The musicians themselves are usually just aiiight.

True, a ton of unsigned bands out there are lame, which explains why they're unsigned. Maybe it's just too hard to find the good ones.

I prefer indie music.
I even support them by ezine website. the whole aim is to pass those bands who are doing what major ones forget when they recieve the cash. i'm friends with alot of the bests which i'm helping and i'm currently working on networking and someday i plan to release a online pdf version of magazine. =)
Kudos.
More people should support those who have qulity but not reconetion.
