What was with Izzie?

Can someone please tell me what was up with Izzie's speech there at the end of the show. I mean, I get where it came from. At the beginning of last week's episode she told Meredith she didn't know what she believed in anymore. So after she had a good day and was a "rockstar" and got off probation, I understand that she believes again.
But still, the whole speech was a bit random, and telling George that he made a mistake marrying Kaly....that was really out of place. Everyone was sad and worried about Meredith, and she brings that up? And she talked about butter?
I get she's been through some trauma, but am I the only one that thinks her character is a bit strange?

I like Izzie. Even though lately she has been speaking her mind and crossing boundaries on what she should or shouldn't say , i still like Izzie. I mean that's what makes part of the show great right? Her big mouth slips and it makes it even funnier because Callie would have this face and george will stand up to her. Anyway if she kept her mouth shut, grey's anatomy will be a big bore.

I wouldn't use strange. I'd say her character is outrageously inappropriate and annoying. And, the sad thing is, I'm sure the writers think she's a trooper and uplifting with that speech. Or, maybe I should say I believe the writers feel that way.

I love Izzie! She was just trying to make everyone feel better about Meredith by bringing up those things. All the interns are strange in their own way and thats why we love them, that speech is the only way they'll get that they have to believe.

I think Izzy's a bit strange, but that's why I love this show. All the characters have their weird quirks--just like everyone I know! I think Izzy tries to be everything to all people, and so she spouts her thoughts.
I think it was totally random that she went off on George while Meredith is dying, but maybe it's one of those things like when you start going on some tangent, you just keep going and can't stop.
I agree with the person who made the comment about the butter. That was gross. Who eats an entire tub of butter? Hopefully she ate it with bread or something. Otherwise she isn't quirky, she has real problems!!

she brings it up,coz she was stressed.
she was in stress because she worried about meredith.
izzie always act strange when she is in an extreme stressful situation.
that is why she keeps talking and talking..
did you remember how she reacted when meredith was holding the bomb??
then izzie reacted strange too

I think Izzie is strange but I also think that her character is needed to kinda balance out the group. I was fine with her little speech thing until she started in on George. I don't get why she thinks that she has to say everything that pops in her head.

Her character is strange. I think she was saying that everyone likes to pretend that things aren't the way they are, but those things really happen.
She doesn't like George and Callie, but after tonight I really don't either. I think George is seeing it too. Callie is just not very nice to him sometimes.
