i'm not sure about the local news. World news has a wide array of breaking news and entertainment, from South Africa to Indonesia, from BOllywood to HOllywood.

in one way or another it does. it has not freed itself yet to sensationalism - one the limiting factor to really do more of localism, diversity and risk takin and even doing really significant and important issues.

think they don't! As we all know specially here in the philippines, media men are working all the time to bring about all the informations we need even if when their lives are at stake..

With so many avenues of getting media coverage, it is easy to get local news from one place, world news from another, and yet unusual news from another. I don't know if all of those three can ever be successfully combined, but the lack of having them in one place, doesn't stop me from seeking them all out from many sources.
