Can a company do this?

Remember I posted about that "sick" company I just resigned?
My colleage (M'sian) was still there suffering since then.
Now I heard from her that the manager is asking her to leave.
For poor performance, eg. din manage to close enough deals for the company.
As she was M'sian, she will need to pay tax if she hits the 60days - 186 (should be) days working in S'pore. Unless she came back to S'pore to work, then the tax will be refund.
On the 9Nov will be her 60 days. Yesterday, the SHE manager told her that she wants an answer or will give her an answer by today. Something like the company wants her to tender resignation.
Giving one week notice, if she leave after 9Nov, she will be to pay tax, we believe that the management did it on purpose, so to make her pay the tax. So to hold her salary.
Is there any thing that she can do?
Any advise?
Can she appeal to MOM? Any use?
