Struggle to open front door

Just moved in to a house (that has been empty for several months) and I am struggling to open the yale lock on the front door perhaps due to the door swelling in the wet weather. Can the pressure on the lock be an issue or is it simply a case of the lock being broken and needing replacing? All three outside doors are sticking anything I should know before I get a sander out to make them easier to open?
