Stupid things / mistakes done at work and their repercussions?

So, after a horrible week at work, that involved me making my first real mistake there, I came to thinking what are the silly things others have done. Silly as in absolutely crazy and funny and yet stupid to do in a work place. Also, in the sense as stupid - how on earth did I manage to do that mistake kind of stupid. If anyone else found out at work, like a boss, what were the repercussions of said silly thing? After having done a particular activity many times before at work, I somehow failed to load our processors with all their work, and it was only discovered that night when it was too late to do anything to fix it then. I still cannot even remember not actually doing it. I'm a person of routine, so I don't get how I could possibly miss them. I suspect my little mistake is going to be quite costly to my work. I also wouldn't be surprised if my little mistake finds me unemployed next week. So, what are your horror or funny work stories?

Oh I've had some shockers - at one place I worked i was their "worst receptionist ever" until i left and then they were going through 1 girl a month!! I personally always hated when you do the nice thing and help someone out of a jam ... but then you end up being behind on what you are doing - and no one bothers to help you! Grrr ... I also hated when I would work my butt off trying to get something in the days post for the sales team [cos they were too lazy to do it earlier in the day] and then 5pm would roll by and the sales rep would leave ... leaving me to work overtime [which was unpaid 'cos i was on a salary] to finish everything up. I don't have any horror stories for myself - apart from once I ordered a stack of wrong stationery and considered forging my boss's signature on it all so that he'd get into trouble and not me! But i've worked with some shockers!! I don't think they can fire you for making a single mistake ... but it would depend on what you have in writing for your work contract. Accidents happen and if companies wanted 100% perfect people working there then no one would be employed! But I wish you luck!!
