Paper on sweets

February 16, 2007 8:57am CST
I recall as a youngster eating certain sweets with the paper still on them, I think because a friend had told me that you could. Was I being 'had on', or does anyone else recall eating sweets with the paper on?

Japanese candy - Japanses candy covered with rice paper
When I was a kid and living in California I was given some cady that was coverecd with edible paper. It was rice paper. The hard candy had rice paper on it then it was covered with the ususal plastic wrapper. This web site gives more details. You weren't being had on after all. http://tastyisland.wordpress.com/2006/10/28/have-your-candy-and-eat-the-wrapper-too/
