If you need an extra income, you wont find it on sites that pay your clicks or reading emails. You wont make an income by taking surveys since it all depends on them inviting and they...dont do that!! You wont make any money but writing articles, at best you will spend a lot of time writing something that they will eventually either reject or not publish!!
So what is the way to an honest income??
Be a webmaster your self!!!
Sell through your website anything you can think!!
You can start at NO COST there are web hosting companies that give not only the space but the tools to create a website FREE.
It wont earn you money form the FIRST day but slowlly and steadilly you will start earning an income; it all depends on you and the time you give to your website.
The secret is NOT to give up after a few days!!

I had to respond because in your discussion you say you won't make money writing articles because they will "eventually reject or not publish." I am making money writing articles and they all have been published on Associated Content. I know someone who is making a full time income with AC itself. Sure it takes a little while for them to review them but they have paid me almost $25 already.
Your suggestion is good but I would rather use my blog because I am no webmaster and blogging is much easier for me and others who aren't good at creating websites. Here is my blog if you would like to check it out:

Wow. This is a very nice information you have share with us. Thanks for giving me this kind of information. Ive open the site you posted and its really an interesting site.
I will spend my time reading the contents of the site. And then probably practice how to be a webmaster.
You are absolutely right that success cant be achieve in just for a day. One must learn how to sacrifice and dedicated enough in order to be successful.
