Euthanasia is where by a person who is ill wishes to be put to death by doctors. Now there is a big contrversy around this issue, as a matter of fact jus the other day me and uni friend were fighthing over it. In my opinion Euthanasia should be allowed, it should be legalized , those who are very sick and they have no hope for any cure ,wish to die in dignity, i know i would want that if i am that sick, so who are we telling them that they can't do it ? it is their life ? they are the ones suffering ? why physican aid in dying is not legalized.
Are you pro or against Euthanasia ? what are your thoughts on that?

I'm for euthanasia. And for me I must make my wishes known to family and friends that I do not want prolonged suffering if I were to contract disease that was non-curable. The same applies if I were to end up in a vegetative state. If my quality of life was low in my old age I also do not want that prolonged to satisfy doctor's 'ethics'.
I have my own clear understanding of afterlife states and would not like my consciousness pulled back into a rotting useless physical carcass that did not serve any purpose other than suffering.

I agree with you. I am pro-euthanasia for sure. My only concern is there would be a potential for abuse, but properly administered and regulated, with proper physician training, this issue should be limited. I can't understand how we treat our animals with more compassion than our fellow human beings. When it is clear that there is no hope of recovery and a person is in great pain we should have enough humanity to allow them to die with dignity.

As long as they have made their wishes clearly known by being in their "right mind" when making their request then how can it be murder when they want to die? It isn't, that's how.
But, I'll admit, your solution definitely sounds like a viable alternative, as long as it puts one out of their pain. I guess some people would still have a problem being "trapped" in their own body, immobile. Conscious or unconscious.

We have just heard on the UK news today that the cost of caring for old people with senile dimensia and other old age deseases is £70 billion a year and growing fast. Local councils are saying the government don't give them enough money to cope with the care needed and most of the caring is done by the family of the sick person.
Are we seeing the first stages of a government plan to legalise euthenasia?
