I'm Canadian so we don't have many views except you want one you get one. I think though the difference lies more with religious differences then cultural ones. I'm a catholic so I know it's frowned upon in the Catholic church. But I don't know in my opinion in this day and age it shouldn't be such a big deal. Geez more then 1/2 married people end up divorced.

You brought up a good point-religion does play a big part in how people view divorce.

I am from the Philippines but of Chinese ancestry. I still believe that when you decide to take the plunge and get married, it should be for life. Hence, I do not really believe in divorce. That being the case, marriage should be something that is decided upon after much thought and decision.

Thanks for your thoughts. Is that how most people in your area view it as well? I agree that marriage shouldn't be rushed into.

I'm from scandinavia
Living together without beeing married is ok with me.
I think you should only marry if your intention is to stay married for the rest of your life. If you become unhappy with your marriage and you cannot work the problem out I'm all for divorce. One has only one life and noone deserves to go through it unhappy.
