March 11th Daylight Savings Begins

I only heard this once on the news, stating that March 11th will be the new day to begin daylight savings this year. Apparently it is supposed to interfere with some people's electronic equipment and such. I haven't heard much else about it, like why they are doing it this way this year. Do you have more input on this?
