Chongming island China, just an hour ferry from shanghai, a new city will rise from mudflats and wetlands. This project about $1.3 billion. It's about three quarter the size of Manhattan. The energy will come from biofuel, sun, wind and recycled organic materials. A quarter of the island will be untouched ecological buffer.
WOW THIS IS GREAT NEWS. What do you think? and for chinese people do you know about this project?

I'm not Chinese but I know few things about this project. Just few days ego I read an article about Chongming island China. I find it very interesting and I made some search to learn more. So surprise me nicely your topic. I read that until 2010 they will live at Eco-city 25.000 people and the next 20 years the population of island will be 500.000.I know I can't be one of them just I'll wish to have the luck and visit it even once. Good work and I hope they follow the idea many other countries.
