Nascar Cheating

I for one am really disappointed in the beginning of this new season with all of the cheating that has gone on. I am a true fan of the sport and I love the cars the speed and the excitement of it. I know that my attitude towards Michael Waltrip has changed some and I am sorry for that. I know desperation can make people do some stupid things but knowing the rules and the vigorous way that Nascar has stepped up their inspections, I find it ludicrous for teams to try things that will get them caught and ruin their reputations all for the sake of winning a race. Cheaters are cheaters in any forum. What do you all think.

I did not see any other posts on here in regarding to Nascar cheating when I did a search other than one which was created after your post. I think it is terrible that these drivers have to cheat to try and win races but I am not surprised since there are cheaters in all sports. I am not a huge race car fan but it is disappointing to know that they can not try and win races the legitimate way. It annoys me that drivers and athletes in general have to cheat and they should not be allowed to be in any record books. Hopefully NASCAR will do more to try and prevent cheating.

Thank you for your response and I agree totally. All athletes should be held to a high standard and yes severe penalities for cheating should be in place. I believe Nascar has stepped up to the plate to make the teams realize if they do these types of things they will be punished.
