A dog breeder is selling me a female, 9-month old American Bulldog and a female, 3-month old basset hound for =P=18,000.00 or US$367. Is this a fair price? Should I buy both?

If they are both purebread then that is a decent price for sure.
Is there a reason you would want both?
They are both puppies and are going to take a lot of work with house training and potty training.
A bulldog and a basset hound are quite different in nature. Do they get along now? Do they play together now? Will they get along in the future? Do you have time to be raising and training 2 puppies?
I wouldnt purchase any puppy unless I was going to be home 24 hours a day. Puppies are a lot of responsibility, training, and time.
Good luck to you!

i guess you are right. :-( (sob)
i was only thinking of the price but not the responsibilities which go with the raising of dogs.
puppies take lot of work, i agree and i am an absentee owner. i work out of town for 3 days, that is i leave for work every tuesday morning and won't be back until friday evening. i have already lost two puppies (pomeranian and pitbull) to parvo because i was too busy to bring them to the vet for shots and i wasn't there when they started to show signs of parvo attack.
(sigh!) i love dogs.
ill just get one (who cannot have dogs?! i cant.)

Is there anyway you can bring the pup with you to work? 3 days is a long time for a dog let alone a pup.
If it were up to me, I'd go for the basset myself :)
