What is the typical percentage a builder charges for a new home construction after the materials and labor for their own benefit? We are looking into getting a house built, but need to know details of how much exactly this could cost. Has anyone had a house built recently?

That would really depend on the contractor as they all very in prices. The absolute best thing to do is get many quotes from many different contractors. CHECK REFERRALS AND PAST WORK!!! You do not want a contractor that is only going to actually be there maybe an hour a day. Remember, in the contracting world, you do not always get what you pay for. The most expensive contractor may not always be the best and the least expensive contractor can sometimes be the best. Check your contractors HARD before you decide on one.
