Copy and Paste

mylot allow to the members to copy and past , when they rech 500 descussion , i think you can do this becase you sent 500 descussion but you earn 447 point ,

I don't know. I think there has been a few glitches in the system over the last couple of days. I know I couldn't do it untill i hit 500 posts. And i had to sign out then back in again to do it!

yes its true that one need to cross 500 posts to be able to copy and paste.I saw your profile you got 8 best answers so i think thats the reason why you were able to copy and pasete.

its amazing really, i was not bale to do this befoer 500 posts, and i dont think so that they ahve changed rules of some kind. but again then it is wonder what all and how it happened to you?...as amny time i tried to do copy paste , i was not allowed to do so.

I can also copy and paste short items such as web addresses. Just very short items however. I don't know why it will allow that but not longer items. There must be a character limit or something.

I also encountered some discussions here with about 100 plus posts and were able to post pictures too. I haven't tried to upload pictures though. The rules here sometimes are quite confusing.

When I first signed up, the copy & paste was abused. People were copying & pasting other people's discussions as if it was their own. As a result, they made that change. My way of doing things is I type things up in notepad, & then copy & paste. I think I was at your range (in the 450's) when they implemented that. I guess my calling it newbie discrimination may gotten things eased up, but I'm sure others complained, particularly when copying & pasting correct URL's. It was to prevent newbies from stealing other MyLot topics & posting them as their own, but I still consider it newbie discrimination.

I think that was because you have good stars reputation so myLot let you to copy paste. not really sure but they write it on the last alert only member with rating point more than 500 can do copy paste.

Hmmm, that's interesting. I had to reach 500 before I could copy and paste. And even though I have the ability to do, I rarely do. I feel like it's cheating lol. And besides it's not really my discussion if I copy and paste it. Unless I need it from an outside source where I claim it's from an outside source. But hey, if they're letting you copy and paste, that's great!---And for the person that called you a liar, that's just low. Seriously people need to stop name calling.

Yes you are allowed to paste a few words.But you can never a paste a line or so cuz you gotta be 500 for it.I noticed this the 2nd day at mylot.LOL.

I do that before, but mylot can't allowed me. They said like what you said. But if you can do that, maybe I'll try again. Because if we can copy/paste the disscussion, so I can write that without the connection more.

No, you can not copy paste with less than 500 points. Either you are lieing or you do some thing. Well rules are same.

It is possible before 500 points. It depends on the OS you are using. The only thing I ever copied and pasted so far is a couple of lengthy URLs, that I added to my posts.

didnt notice this restriction, possibly i passed the 500 points thresh hold before the new guideline implemented.

I wish they would! I have wanted to post news items for discussion with teasers and links, but don't have th epatience to copy all of the teaser bits :-)

you really can't cut or copy and paste something in mylot not unless you have 500 points already. i did this before but a message appeared below response box in red fonts. it's for security and anti-spam purposes. now that you have 522 points, maybe you can paste already.

I noticed that too when trying to post a shorter url, but when trying to post a longer one it didn't work. Just out of curiosity, I tried posting a little more and a little more of the long url, and decided there was a character limit. I finally decided the only way I was going to copy and paste the long url was a piece at a time, at least until I reach the 500 milestone. You probably can't copy and paste a full line of text, or a long url until you reach the 500 mark. I know I can't.

well i ve just about joined mylot and i have no idea about this but i joined it because a friend suggested it to me...but she said that copy and paste was against mylot guidelines whether you have more than 500 points or otherwise...so i guess i ll have to clarify...
