burning documents

Can anyone help me, i am going crazy. I have an emachine, and internet explorer. I am trying to burn files for a backup, and having a real difficult time. I have this one program, but I don't think it came with the emachine, called Roxio. It takes for ever. I even tried putting two or three at a time, and after 1.5 it was till saying burning. I have new cd discs. Can anyone tell me if there is another program to this computer, and if so where would I find it? Or suggestions for other programs that are good for burning? Thank you

ya, i use the in-built cd writer of Windows XP if i am writing documents. Otherwise (for pics, videos, music) i trust Nero. And it's easy to use & quite fast. U cud d'load rhe Nero CD(& DVD) writer from www.download.com
