When I was little I was beaten and emotionally abused by my mother. I would have rather her give me 100 beatings than have her tell me how much she hated me and how ugly I was, etc., on a daily basis. She was bi-polar and completly out of control.

I think that being mentually abused is worse. I have been through it and I can say it mentually was the worse. But that is just my opnion I am sure they are alot out there that will say the physicalabuse is worse. Everyone different and abuse is different for everyone.

Obviously neither is good. But people do not understand what they don't see.Physical abuse is easier to see, understand and try to repair.Mental abuse leaves scars on the mind that may never get repaired and since not visible to others, may not get the treatment needed . Mental, verbal and emotional abuse is just as dangerous as physical abuse and has to recognized as such.

Personally I think mental and emotional abuse are worse. I have been abused emotionally, and it still affects me. Those two last longer and are harder to get over than what physical abuse is. Sometimes it will take therapy in order to get over mental and emotional abuse. Of course I think all kinds of abuse are totally wrong.
