Yeah i have seen that i even seen a grocery isle that skipped the 13th isle lol...dumb.. lol..as you said you'd think modern man would not fall for such stuff as that..

Nothing bad's ever happened to me on Friday the 13th either, lol. I've read that the belief was started from Jesus last supper. There were originally 13 at the table, including Judas; what Judas did probably made the ancients believe that the number 13 was unlucky. I can't believe to this day that high rise buildings don't have a 13th floor...they just skip from 12 to 14. You wouldn't think modern man would still get caught up in superstitions, would you, lol?!

I never knew that about Nicaragua...very interesting. I wonder why they consider that to be an unlucky day?! Thanks for sharing, I learn something new every day!

Thanks for taking the time to hunt that up! That's really interesting about the 7th. Sometimes you can see where in primitive, or different, cultures why they would think that after something bad happens. Still, it's nice to know the basis behind the superstition...thanks again for filling me in on the Nicaraguan one!

Well nothing really bad has ever happened on friday the 13th so I don't believe it as unlucky there are some other days which I think are unlucky but I am just having a bad day.

I don't believe it's unlucky either, just something a lot of superstitious people believe. So sorry you had a bad day, hope it's better today!

I agree with you...it'd be more than surprising if nothing ever happened on any day, much less Friday the thirteenth! I don't think there's ever been a day in the history of the world where something negative didn't happen. Accidents, etc, never take a holiday, so why should the 13th be any different?!
