I have a fear of driving near deep ditches and when there is no shoulder. I still drive, but sometimes it is so bad I break out in a cold sweat and hold on for dear life to the stearing wheel until I am past the offending situations.
Do you fear anything as you drive, besides the loony toon out there?

I have driven through Colorado where are there are very steep hills...up AND down!
Wow! Talk about clutching the steering wheel for dear life!! There was a section of highway we drove through that took us over an hour to get through the steep inclines and declines....by the time I was done, my hands hurt so bad from clutching so hard! I felt like I would not be able to open my hands again...let along to even try to close them! OUCH!
We have even driven up Pike's Peak. I have to say...OMG! That is sooooo scary! And once we got to the summit...I didn't want to go back down! And I wasn't even the one driving! I NEVER want to do that again!!!!

My biggest fear when I'm driving is when I'm on the freeway and the road is under construction with those cement walls that go up about halfway, they always seem so close to the cars and I'm always afraid that I'm going to run into it ot the car in front of me will causing an accident. That is probably my biggest fear out their when I'm driving. Of course the idiot drivers, the people on their cell phones, people not paying attention in general that all scares me too. :)

I do not drive yet...I am 20 and a 20 year old would usually have their driver's license by now. One reason why I don't really want to get my license right now, is because of the highway. I am not afraid of being on it, just afraid of like crashing into other people. And of trucks. Big trucks. Especially if the weather is really bad, driving on the highway with trucks isn't a good thing..And something that I might put off for a bit longer now that I think of it..

I´ve got a huge driving fear since I´ve had an accident a few years ago. I didn´t drive the car, but it was an accident with serious consequences (luckily not for me) and I´ve stopped driving ever since.
I know I should overcome this fear, but just can´t get myself do so.

I fear high turns on narrow roads in the mountains. I cannot stand it. I just pray, take a deep breath, and concentrate on praying until I am though that area.

Rational fear can save your life. In your case I think that you are not fully in control of your own car. You much tell yourself to relax and control this tool of transportation. There are other crazy drivers out there and your job is control your car. That is all you need to do. I totally enjoy driving and don't unnecessarily worry about the outcome. I have insurance and as long as I do what I am supposed to do I am covered. Just don't be looking for trouble when there isn't any.
