English, different meaning for different words

Since this is an international web site, even tho we are all typing/talking in English, is there any terms or words that just seem weird when you see others use it? What words have you seen used on here or in life, and you have had to take a second to convert it into your own terms. Here are a couple I found, once I saw where the person had wrote them came from they made sense, but some of them were terms I have never used before. Remember I am from Australia, Hydro bill - electric bill, person from Canada. Dairy – café/milk bar person from New Zealand Jelly – jam/condiment person from USA
