Do you keep your old school uniforms?

Do you keep old school uniforms as a form of remembrance of your student's life? Girls would probably keep some their pinafores or exchange with friends but I could be wrong. My old uniforms were discarded except for a light green shirt worn during my days in Tampines Junior College. I kept it because it was bought quite expensively at that time and it is still comfortable to wear as home clothing.

LOL..I guess they have to be specially preserved or else the clothing would have degraded into dust? Enjoy your reply, cheers.

It was 30 years since I left school. I know the nostalgia of keeping our old school uniforms for sentimental value. I wish I did that. But I did not. No point regreting anyway. However, I kept up my military caps and certain buttons and awards. They help me remember I was once a really disciplined guy.

I see. That discipline must have benefitted you to some extent today. On the contrary, I didn't keep any of the military uniform and accessories to be reminiscent of the good buddies I had then. Yet we maintained the friendship till today.

We didn't have uniforms, but we had a rather strict dress code. I kept a couple of my favorite shirts, but needless to say, I was happy to get rid of the rest. I hated that a part of my individuality had to be taken away from me for a lousy dress code in a public school.

Hmm...we don't have such a problem in Singapore. In fact I think girls here generally like their school uniforms especially the pinafore types, because it helps to bring out their figures, innocence, studious look etc..but I could be wrong. They express their individuality in some other ways perhaps not through uniforms.

Hi, I still have the tie I wore in primary school. I don't have anything else. I also still have my first holster from my first cowboy outfit, but I think I became a pacifist or something and now just remember sticking up the visitors when they arrived.

Wow, that's unusual, it must be a treasure to you then. Can you elaborate on your pacifist views? Just curious.

Nope..never kept any of my pinafores. I do not see the point. Eventually we wont be able to fit in them.

I never keep any of my school uniforms and anyway, will not be able to fit in them anymore. However, I do still keep the PE shorts which I can wear around the house as it is really comfortable. My mum always scold me for wearing it as she feels that I should have grown out of it. :D

Yea! I still keep my Secondary and JC uniform. I just can't bear to throw them away. I also keep my PE T-shirts. I use my JC PE T-shirts as pyjamas! It's very comfortable!

I only wear school uniform when I was in HS and in Elementary. I can't remember exactly where my they are now but I know for sure that I have sold my HS uniform at this store near my school. Did get a little amount of dough. I've been missing my uniform. Sometimes I wished I never sold them. Oh well..

Hello naka75! I actually didn't keep my old uniforms. I can't remember now where are they. As far as I can remember my mom gave it to one of my cousins who can't afford to buy a new uniform. It's ok with me, I am happier because I know I was able to help.
