Do you Drink? Or do you Drive?

Before I go out tonight I would like to post this discussion and ask people, when you have a group of friends that wants to go out and drink, do you offer to drive? I am asking if you can actually watch others get drunk and know that you have to be responsible enough to get them all home, so you CANNOT DRINK? Where I am from I see that a lot of people call themselves a "designated driver", but they really only moderate their drinking and I don't think that is the point. I personally hate alcohol, so tonight I am going to go and watch a bunch of people get drunk and then I am going to make sure that they all get home safely. Have a great Weekend everybody! :)

I've been the designated driver plenty of times and I don't drink when I have to drive.I would not get in the car with someone that had been drinking.It's just not very responsible to do such a thing.My friends and I would take turns and who ever wasn't drinking...the others would pay for their sodas.I think that's the least you can do for someone getting you home safely.

Thanks for the encouragement, as an update, it took me until 4 am, but they all got home safe. I went home and went to bed and slept pretty much all day, it threw off my day, but my friends are safe and we can go out again sometime! :)

i made my driver license very late. so the last years i got the luck i can drink and i don´t have to drive. but if i go on party with other friends we call one of them to drive. but it goes round. but now i got my license and after that i have to drive. but that´s ok.

I don't drink usually at all. When I go out I am always the designated driver. I find that I have a better time without drinking. Besides you wake up the next morning feeling bad. I am just not the drinker so I always like to drive people home who have been drinking.
