I have recently learned that contraceptives are abortifacient. An abortifacient is where you are capable of conceiving a child but it will not let the fetus implant. I was horrified once I found this out! I researched NFP because I'm nursing and didn't want any extra hormones going to my baby! My doctor never bothered to tell me about this so I figured I would tell anyone who is concerend about this like I am.
