What do you keep or make to remember the day you gave birth or what memorabilia do you save for your child when he/she grows up? i'm trying to make a scrapbook, as suggested by my sister-in-law. any other suggestions? thanks

Apart from a photo album starting off with the ultrasound pictures, I kept one of her first nappies (diapers), the first babybottle, the first outfit, the first shoes and her babybrush. Hope this helps.

Scrapbooking is such a good way to keep memorabilia. Journaling is also a worthy option. While doing scrapbooks, you might want also to document your thoughts for that specific moment. You can include it your book, such a keepsake to show to your child when he/she grows up. Of course, take pictures. Lots and lotsa of pictures. Even if you're still pregnant, take pictures of yourself. It is nice to include it in your scrapbook. You should also keep those baby tags from the hospital, those first haircut, those first mittens/booties. Capture those first bath, first smile, first meal, first vacation. Document as much as you can, all those firsts will make her growing up very memorable. Happy scrapping!

too bad you didn't have any, but it's not too late still. you can probably come up with something better for your daughter to look through when she grows up

I too have made scrapbooks for my children (although they include everything from birth until last year as I ran out of ink and only recently got more, now I'll have to get back into it). As well, all my children have baby books which I tried my best to keep updated as they were growing up. I think it's great to have these little mementos which I'll be able to pass onto them when they are older. It would be wonderful to have one of my own, however I don't, lol...

I wrote a letter to each of my children shortly after they were born I talked about how I felt when I found out I was preg. things of interest that happened during the preg. and of course how I felt and what I was thinking when they were born. I think the most important thing when doing something like this is for whatever you write or keep to be from your heart. When your children get older they will be able to feel the love when they go through the book.

I've made a scrapbook for my son. I started with his ultrasounds, pics of the baby shower, then for his birth I have his hospital bracelets and mine, along with a birth announcement, his first picture, a business card with the number to labor and delivery. I've also kept his coming home outfit with the cap they gave him at the hospital, it has the hospitals name on it. I'd like to frame those too!
