I was born and raised in Oregon, and I think there is no place better to live and raise a family. One of the main reasons is our mild climate. Most winters, we seldom see snow at all in the valleys although we had a couple of inches this winter that hung around for a week or so. We have no tornados or blizzards to worry about. That was an earthquake near Portland a few years ago strong enough to do a small amount of damage but no people were injured or killed. We occasionally have a strong wind but very seldom one strong enough to do a lot of damage. Yes, we do have a lot of rain, but we also have a lot of sunshine. The temperature seldom goes below freezing even at night. Today, February 16, it is about 40-50 degrees outside with a few sprinkles but mostly sunshine. I visited a few stores today and saw people going in and out of parking lots with just a sweater and no coat. Yes, give me Oregon anyday. I love our state, its climate, its mountain lakes, and gorgeous coastline. It really is a beautiful state and includes a national park, Crater Lake National Park within its borders. Come visit us and see.

I agree completely! Oregon is a wonderful place to live. Born and raised here as well. Currently live in Grants Pass
